My focus is to make music exciting, approachable and fun. With this in mind I have designed lessons that are conducted in a fun and encouraging environment where you learn the skills necessary to achieve your musical goals, whether that be an audition for university, song writing, or just learning some of your favourite songs in your down time.

I have taught at schools all around Brisbane over the past 10 years and really enjoy sharing the knowledge and joy of music with my students. I currently teach privately, as well as at the Jazz Music Institute in Bowen Hills (university level) and Brisbane Music Studio in Morningside. I think that learning should be tailored to the student to give them the most effective and rewarding learning experience.

I offer a contemporary integrated syllabus that gives you a well rounded experience with learning your favourite music. The lessons look at genres such as pop, rock, jazz, funk, and everything else you can think of. We also look at chord progressions, song writing, ear training, soloing, accompaniment, technical facility, reading music, and theory. The course is suited to students of any age and level of experience.

I am qualified with a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance (Guitar), and am currently completing my Masters of Music Studies degree at the Griffith Conservatorium in Southbank. I have recorded and released numerous recordings with a variety of groups across many genres, have toured around Australia and New Zealand, and I play 120+ gigs per year. This real world experience gives me the understanding of what is necessary and relevant and what is right for you.
