Originally from Hong Kong, Vanessa began her life as a harpist at age 12, garnering years of experiences through performances with Friends of the Harp Charitable Foundation and Harp Chamber Hong Kong. She has since earned Grade 8 qualifications in harp and piano from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM), conferred in 2010.
Vanessa was a student of Dan Yu, a professional harpist and gold medallist at the prestigious 5th USA international Harp Competition in 2001. Being a disciple/student/apprentice under a world renowned harpist, Vanessa has accumulated a great deal of technical mastery.
Currently, Vanessa is studying medicine at the University of New South Wales. She has a strong foundation of music knowledge, and a great enthusiasm for teaching both beginner and experienced harpists.
