Bilingual violin lessons for all levels and ages. Lessons can be offered both offline and online, subject to government policies in relation to COVID.
I offer rigorous training and preparation for AMEB exams, performances, competitions, Eisteddfods, string ensemble, orchestras, scholarships to private high schools, admissions to world class conservatories in Europe and US, as well as playing violin for fun and general education.
Victor's Bio:
Victor started learning the violin at the age of 6, under the tutelage of China’s renowned violin pedagogue Peter Zhang. At the age of 8, he gave his orchestral debut performing Mozart Violin Concerto No.3 with the Hunan Symphony Orchestra in China. Soon thereafter he captured first prize in the junior division of Hong Kong International Violin Competition, as well as the Singapore International Violin Competition. Since then, he has appeared on stage as a soloist collaborating with many distinguished orchestras in Asia, America and Australia. presenting works including Mendelssohn Violin Concerto In E minor, Bruch Violin Concerto in G minor and Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto in D major.
In 2011, he was admitted first place to the affiliated middle school of Xinghai Conservatory of Music in Guangzhou, his hometown. In the same year, he received the special invitation and scholarship from the Australian government and Australian String Academy to study in Australia. In 2013, he was awarded a full scholarship to study at the Meadowmount School of Music in the United States, where he performed and studied chamber music and solo works. In 2015, he entered the Sydney Conservatorium of Music Rising Star program and studied with Professor Ole Bohn. In 2016, he was awarded the music scholarship from St Andrew’s Cathedral School and was invited to perform for Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull at Kirribilli House. In 2017, he featured recital repertoire such as “Paganiniana” by Nathan Milstein at Sydney Town Hall. In the 2017 HSC, he achieved full marks for his Music 2 performance component and Music Extension, hence nominated to perform in the annual Encore at Sydney Opera House. In 2018, he was invited to appear as a solo performer at the renowned Sala Cecilia Meireles Concert Hall in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In February, he attended the Santa Catarina Music Festival in Brazil where he studied with many world-renowned pedagogues including Vermeer quartet violist Richard Young, Concertmaster of Berliner Philharmoniker Leon Spierer…
More recently, Victor was accepted and offered scholarship from many prestigious schools in America such as the Jacobs School of Music of Indiana University, Cleveland Institute of Music, New England Conservatory, Bienan School of Music and Carnegie Mellon School of Music… In 2019, he was awarded scholarship to participate in the Aspen Music Festival in Colorado, USA, and Mozarteum Summer Academy in Salzburg, Austria. In 2020, Victor was invited to join Youth Music Culture Guangdong under artistic director Yo-Yo Ma and Long Yu and performed in Xinghai Concert Hall. He was also invited to perform with the Xi’an Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Tan Dun in Xi’an and Beijing.
