Julien is the author of VIOLINOPEDIA, a method that was developed between 2009 and 2013 to teach young children violin in a fun and motivating context.
Julien studied in various countries in Europe (France, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands) with pedagogues such as Keiko Wataya, Pavel Vernikov and Matis Vaitsner. He has performed with pianist Seiko Yagi in Europe, Japan and Australia.
As a teacher, Julien has taught violin in school and regional conservatoriums (Orange NSW, Gosford NSW, Sydney Con High) and universities (University of Sydney, University of Melbourne). Julien was concertmaster of the Central Coast Symphony from 2005 to 2007 and previously played in the Rotterdam Chamber Orchestra. He plays regularly with Orchestra Victoria in Melbourne.
In 2014 he created two not-for-profit organisations: String Along (AUS) and Des Cimes et des Notes (FR). Projects organised by both organisations are to develop performance opportunities for young students and help communities. Julien is the Artistic Director of Festival Des Cimes et des Notes.
