My name is Wilbur, and I’ve been playing guitar since the age of 11. I’m a WAAPA graduate having recently completed a Bachelor of Music majoring in performance and a Diploma of Music Industry. I have performed with various ensembles, such as Plectra, Western Australian Guitar Orchestra, Amarach, METSO (on banjo), and continue to do so on a regular basis.
My teaching philosophy has always been to instil in my students the same passion and curiosity that inspired me on my musical journey. I always endeavour to create a fun and relaxing teaching environment, and my positive outlook and high energy allow me to keep my students motivated and engaged. Drawing from my vast experience as a performer, I try to give my students the skills and tools to be the best musicians possible, and I value creativity, spontaneity and experimentation in my lessons.
I teach classical as well as contemporary/rock genres, and students of all levels and ages (children 6 years and up) are welcome.
