I am an experienced piano teacher and musician based in Marrickville.

I am a recent Masters graduate of the Royal Academy of Music in London, and I have performed and toured throughout Australia, the UK, Europe and Japan. I have been teaching piano for the past 10 years.

I graduated from the Royal Academy of Music with an MA with distinction. I was awarded the Diploma of the Royal Academy of Music (DipRAM) in jazz piano and I received the Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Music (LRAM), a professional diploma in music teaching.

I am experienced in teaching all styles of music, including taking students through exams of all levels. I continued to teach throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, offering zoom lessons when restrictions would not allow for face-to-face teaching. I have been tutoring piano privately since 2010, and have taught in various music studios and schools throughout Sydney. As part of my undergraduate studies at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, I travelled around regional Australia to give workshops and performance demonstrations at various schools, and worked as an intern lecturer at both the Murray Conservatorium and the Wollongong Conservatorium.

I am equally comfortable in teaching classical performance, jazz piano and improvisation, and popular music performance. In both my undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, I undertook principle study in jazz piano, with secondary study in classical piano and classical composition. I also enjoy and am experienced in teaching music theory and composition. These aspects of my performance and teaching history make me well suited to teach a broad range of students, across all levels of ability.

My recent accolades include being awarded the 2019 Dankworth Jazz Composition Award for Small Ensemble, and being selected as a semi-finalist in the Riga Jazz Stage jazz piano competition. Other awards include the prestigious Australia Council for the Arts Career Development Award, the Leverhulme Trust Postgraduate Scholarship, the Tait Memorial Trust Award, and the Anthony and Sharon Lee Foundation Jazz Scholarship.
