What I focus on in lessons
Solid technique and beautiful tone
Clear work on posture, bow hold, intonation, shifting, vibrato and sound production, so students build a reliable and expressive technical foundation.
Orchestral and ensemble skills
Training in listening, blending, following and giving cues, and understanding your role in an orchestra or group, shaped by my experience in major orchestras, chamber groups and pit ensembles.
Chamber music and leadership
Developing musical communication, confidence leading entries, and shared phrasing through duets and small-ensemble style work, drawing on my roles as Concertmaster and Associate Concertmaster.
Stylistic versatility
Exposure to classical, opera, musical theatre, film/session and flamenco-influenced playing, helping students adapt their sound and style to different genres and projects.
Creative, engaging learning for young players
Child-centred, step-by-step teaching inspired by my work with the Australian Chamber Orchestra Foundations program, focusing on confidence, teamwork and musical curiosity.
Performance-ready preparation
Goal-based learning using concerts, auditions, exams or recording-style projects so students experience what it means to prepare like a professional while still enjoying the process.
