  • Bachelor of Music

Hi all! My name is Zhu En and I am a graduate from the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music.

Introduction to my musical background:

I started learning the cello at the age of 4 from my father (whom is a professional musician) and have been playing it for 20 years now. I was the principal cellist for the Singapore National Youth Orchestra for 2 years and was accepted into the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music young artist program at the age of 13 under full scholarship. After spending most of my life in Singapore, i decided to move back to Australia to further my studies.
I was the principal cellist of the Melbourne Conservatorium Orchestra, you can find my performance of the Shostakovich Symphony No. 10 here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KbQnLFHVlRM. I am also a recipient of multiple scholarships at the melbourne conservatorium

Learning from me:
I am friendly and easy going. I try to make lessons fun and engaging and utilize a free form of teaching, tailoring the lesson to suit individual students. Also I do not do house visits, i prefer students to come to my place for lessons. I can teach 30 mins or 1 hour sessions.

You can reach me via text or email.
