My teaching style is highly personalised, reflecting the age, interests and abilities of each student individually. My experience includes young beginners, teens, adults, AMEB students of all ages, and special needs students. Approaches that I take include personally developed compositions, learning strategies and exercises, as well as musical games and improvisations to keep lessons fun and varied.
I place an ongoing emphasis upon efficient practice techniques, enabling students to use their limited time at the piano to greatest effect. Through my research into the mechanisms that best drive learning and effective memory retention, I've learned several strategies that facilitate progress despite limited timeframes. I am always keen to discuss and share these skills with my students.
