Zola Li is a multi-instrumentalist playing violin, piano, guitar, and singer-songwriter for experimental and improvised music. Originally from Taiwan, she had since taken her original music to many cities in Thailand, Taiwan, and Europe, and also developed a passion for a wide range of musical styles that include anything from classical, Irish, blues, Latin to jazz during this journey. After winning the Taiwan Folk Song Composition Award (2016), she was invited to popular Taiwan TV shows, namely Taiwan Television and Chung T'ien Television, and was interviewed by Channel NewsAsia during her trip in Europe. Driven by her dedication to music, she has been seen performing at many acclaimed festivals, including Shanghai Creative Life Festival (2017), The West Australian Guitar Festival (2019), the Italian Film festival, Perth Bonjour festival (2019), and Bunbury fringe festival (2020). She currently leads her gypsy jazz band Sino Swing which was formed in 2019. The band performs regularly around Perth. Zola is also a solo vocalist, performing with the guitar and piano. She sings in Chinese, Taiwanese, and English. In addition to her profession as a musician, she plays a vital role as a Master of Ceremony, youth community liaison, and mentor of World Music Café which is a social enterprise that creates live concerts and international cuisine experiences showcasing culturally diverse artists and world music genres.
