About me:

I’m a Melbourne based musician and work full time with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra in the double bass section. Previously, I worked as a double bassist with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra in 2024 and with Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra as a double bassist for the previous eight years. I have over 15 years teaching experience providing double bass tuition privately, in schools and for youth and community orchestras including the Sydney Youth Orchestra, Tasmanian Youth Orchestra and Australian Youth Orchestra. When teaching, I aim to foster a sense of engagement and excitement in learning the bass repertoire, whilst focusing on developing good technique to ground the playing. I'm happy to cater music lessons to a range of abilities and ages depending on the student's goals. I can also provide structured teaching of AMEB repertoire and exam content if required.
