Hi, I’m a professional saxophonist studying my Bachelor of Music at the University of Melbourne. I have over 12 years of playing experience, and 4 years of teaching experience. I have 11 years of ensemble experience and section leading. I am very experienced in classical playing, jazz improvisation, composition, teaching and also conducting.
I teach beginners and intermediate students of all ranges and ages. My teaching approach involves assessing student strengths, weaknesses and requirements, and prescribing appropriate and helpful exercises and practice techniques to ensure maximum development. Most of all I encourage students to enjoy what they’re doing. I cover fundamental and technical playing requirements, music theory, aural training, sight reading and notation, and provide a warm playing and learning environment. I think it is essential that students learn the disciplines and enjoy their time doing so.
Generally I take lessons at my address, as well as travel to Ivanhoe, Doncaster, East Doncaster, Templestowe, Bulleen or Eltham ( East Melbourne Area ) and inner city areas such as Carlton and Parkville. Lesson times and places are negotiable.
