Bernie has been playing the oboe since the age of 12. He completed his Bachelor of Music in Performance at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University and continued his studies at the prestigious Royal College of Music in London where he graduated a year later with a Graduate Diploma of Music in Orchestral Playing.
Bernie currently performs with the Queensland Orchestra, Gold Coast Symphony Orchestra, St. Andrew’s Sinfonia, Barrier Reef Orchestra and many other scratch orchestras. He has also performed with the Tasmanian Orchestra and several regional orchestras while in England.
As a Teacher Bernie has over 30 students at 6 schools in Brisbane as well are many students from regional areas.
