Bonita Han-Williams, Professional Double Bass Teacher

Bonita has been a permanent member of the Opera Australia Orchestra (Sydney Opera House) since 2016, as Section Player and seasonal Acting Principal. She is a highly qualified professional double bassist and teacher.

After graduating from the Master of Music program at Boston University, College of Fine Arts (USA), Bonita has enjoyed working with prestigious, professional orchestras in Australia, USA, Europe, and New Zealand. Some of these ensembles include the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Australian Chamber Orchestra, Royal Concergetbouw Orchestra, Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra.

Bonita has over fifteen years of teaching experience, passing on her passion for the double bass to students in Sydney and further afield.

Lessons with Bonita are engaging, focused, and comfortable. She is able to structure lessons towards common goals, whilst having a friendly persona to encourage enjoyment on the instrument.

In-person and online lessons are available, with a focus on musical and technical development, and a healthy and comfortable playing posture.
