Mr Cameron Howe
Currently studying a Bachelor of Music (Honours) at The University of Queensland, Cameron is a driven teacher and aspiring professional violinist/educator; he has encompassed various opportunities as a musician. In 2023 and 2024 Cameron toured Outback Queensland, performing alongside the Queensland Symphony Orchestra and Opera Queensland.
As an active member of the local music community, he is a current member of the Gold Coast and Brisbane Philharmonic Orchestra and has appeared playing with the Gold Coast Chamber Orchestra in 2022. In 2024, Cameron was acting
concertmaster of the Gold Coast Philharmonic Orchestra.
Within UQ, Cameron plays in a variety of ensembles, such as the Pulse Chamber Orchestra, the University of Queensland Symphony Orchestra and various chamber groups. In December 2024, Cameron played first desk in a complete UQ production of Le Nozze Di Figaro, sitting alongside Miss Courtenay Cleary.
As a past student of String Society, Cameron has completed several AMEB examinations; Throughout his AMEB studies, Cameron was awarded second place in the solo category at the 2022 Gold Coast Eisteddfod and received opportunities to perform with the Australian Honours Ensemble Program (AHEP) string orchestra and Creative Generations (GCEN) Symphony Orchestra.
Currently, he is undertaking his violin studies under the tutelage of Doretta Balkizas.
As a teacher, Cameron has over three years experience teaching a range of students from four years old to adults. Since 2023 he has taught the violin at String Society on the Gold Coast.
