I teach students to read music and teach correct techniques required for AMEB exams with A+ and A results.

I ask students with previous piano teachers what their experiences were - positive and negative. Students with previous teachers told me the teacher did not teach the student to read, so when the student got home to practise the student couldn't work out how to read the notes and didn't know where to put their fingers on the piano keys. So those students were unable to practise all wk. Then their previous teachers were angry, smacked hands and called them "stupid".

I do not smack or yell or call u "stupid". I ensure students are independent learners ie able to read music, work it out at home alone to be able to practise.

I'm patient, helpful, caring, friendly, have a laugh and ask questions. If a student doesn't understand it's my job to teach it a different way until the student understands so they could explain it back to me with understanding. I try not to spoon feed. I prefer to ask u questions to help u work it out. But if a student had a bad day I try to make the lesson easier and more enjoyable.

You can bring a notebook. I give helpful verbal and written feedback, encouragement, support and explain weekly homework practise. I give reward stamps, tick the contents page and draw smile faces. We celebrate the ongoing progress.

I try to be the nicest teacher students ever had, while maintaining strict, high quality standards with correct techniques for (optional) exams.

Student's laugh and have fun, feeling a sense of achievement.

Students and parents know there is constant progress. I'm encouraging and believe in your abilities. I help u to improve your weakness or correct bad habits. So, students feel better in themselves they improved so much in 5min conquering what they thought was a challenge.

Students achieved up to A+ in exams (Aust Music Exam Board, Uni of Melb). I teach correct techniques, not bad habits.

If a teacher is teaching by finger numbers and positions that is wrong cos they are not teaching how to read music. Group keyboard is a rip off holding students back. All students need one to one with learning music cos there we all have different strengths and weaknesses, learn in different ways.

I can also give advice re. buying a digital piano or piano.
I can give free advice re. your current keyboard or piano regarding if and when u need to upgrade.

I go the extra mile e.g. Students and parents know I sincerely enjoy this and they know it is not just about money for me. Other students and parents attending piano exams said they were impressed I seemed to be the only piano teacher that attended the examination studio.

If u book in, then u find someone else to also book in for more than three lessons, I will give u one free lesson at 30min/$30.

I will respond promptly to any messages online or ph so if u don't hear from me it's a tech issue. So please try to contact me again.

Thank u :)
