Piano Lessons

I am an experienced piano teacher and musician, and have been working in the music industry for over 10 years.

I teach all levels and styles, and prepare students for AMEB exams, auditions for tertiary institutions/scholarships, as well as just for fun. My students have won competitions around Victoria, been selected as pianists for the Victorian State School Spectacular, and have gone on to study music at prestigious institutions such as Monash University and VCA.

As a pianist/keyboardist, I regularly perform with The Bamboos, Adrian Eagle, Rita Satch and my own groups. With these projects I have toured Australia, Europe and the USA performing at notable festivals such as The Great Escape, Jam Cruise, Byron Bay Bluesfest and Melbourne International Jazz Festival, amongst others.

I completed my Bachelor of Music at Monash University in 2015 and during that time studied with Paul Grabowsky, Tony Gould and Sam Keevers. Since then, I have traveled to Cuba to study Afro-Cuban piano with Alejandro Falcon, and New York to study Jazz Piano with Benito Gonzales. I have also received private tuition from John Taylor in Italy (2015) and LA based arranger/composer Brent Fischer.

My passion for performance shines through in my teaching approach and I always encourage students to seek out performance opportunities wherever possible.

Testimonials:

My daughter has been studying piano with Daniel for over 4 years and has consistently attained As in AMEB Piano examinations for each of the grades, starting from Preliminary to Grade Three. Daniel inspires, encourages and has a way to communicate with children of all ages. His teaching style is light yet informative, directive but not forceful. He pays attention to meticulous detail and teaches his students to do the same. I listen to my daughter play and I hear Daniel’s instructions in her practice. Whilst Daniel teaches piano, he is much more than a piano teacher. He gives children a path to reach for the stars through life skills such as persistence, determination and curiosity. He is a fabulous teacher and we feel very fortunate. (5 stars!)
