Piano Lessons and Theory

My teaching methods are based on John Thompson's modern course for the piano using "Teaching Little Fingers to Play" for beginners and continues to John Thompson Modern Course for Piano Book 1 as well as How to Blitz Grade 1 and 2 Theory
Samantha Coates. Adults can also begin using this same beginners course.

Martha Mier 's Jazz Rags & Blues Books 1-3 and Timeless Popular Classics by Dan Coates containing 40 piano arrangements provides quality teaching material to help sight reading skills.

Students can come familiar with a variety of root position and inverted chords. Each arrangement is edited with fingering and pedaling indications to aid learning.
