Double Bass Lessons

Ivan is passionate about teaching and his enthusiastic, friendly and focused demeanor creates a comfortable and centered learning environment.
He teaches classical technique, arco, pizzicato and a variety of styles to students and approaches teaching from an individual needs perspective.
Ivan organises individual lesson plans tailored to each student’s requirements to attain a well rounded musical education.
This can include:

• learning repertoire
• pizzicato and arco technique
• technical work(scales etc.)
• improvisation
• aural training
• arranging
• theory
• rhythmic exercises
• developing feel and groove

He has studied bass with some of Australia's most experienced and in demand bass players and has also studied Alexander Technique with one of Melbourne’s leading practitioners. This has helped him to develop a deeper understanding of the ways to correctly hold and play this wonderful instrument.

He teaches from his studio in Macleod, Skype and Zoom lessons also available.
