Jeremy Schiftan

I am Jeremy, a 36 year old drummer, guitarist and composer based in Melbourne. I have been playing music for 20 years and working as a live and studio drummer for 15 years. In this time I have worked with a range of local bands in styles such as Rock, Reggae, Hip Hop, Folk, Blues, Jazz, Pop, Disco, Soul and Funk. I have completed a Bachelor of Contemporary Music at Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) and am suited to students ranging from beginner to advanced.

In addition to musical credentials I have 4 years' experience in childcare and am well versed in teaching young students in an exciting and engaging manner. It is my philosophy that the best way for children to gain a fruitful entry into the world of playing music is to have fun and develop an intuitive engagement with the process whilst forming foundational skills.

For more advanced students I am able to work on reading, theory, aural skills, composition, improvisation, tone, groove, dynamics and ensemble playing. My main focus is tailoring lessons to your needs and ambitions as a musician.
