Drum lessons

I am Jeremy, a 37 year old drummer, guitarist, composer and educator based in Melbourne. I have been playing music for 20 years and working as a live and studio drummer for 15 years. In this time I have worked with a range of local bands in styles such as Rock, Reggae, Hip Hop, Folk, Blues, Jazz, Pop, Disco, Soul and Funk. I have a Bachelor of Contemporary Music at Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) and would be best suited to students ranging from beginner to advanced.

In addition to musical credentials I have 4 years experience in childcare and am well versed in teaching young students in an exciting and engaging manner. It is my philosophy that the best way for children to gain a fruitful entry into the world of playing music is to have fun and develop an intuitive engagement with the process whilst forming foundational skills.

For more advanced students I am able to focus on reading, hand and foot technique, groove, dynamics, ensemble playing, improvisation and compositional approaches to drumming. My main focus is tailoring lessons to your needs and ambitions as a musician.
