I began learning piano at the age of 5, and since then, music has been a constant part of my life. In 2019, I completed my Piano Diploma, and I’ve been teaching since 2017—working with students across all levels, from complete beginners to those preparing for formal exams such as AMEB and ABRSM. Originally from Malaysia, I started my teaching journey there and continued after relocating to Melbourne in 2023. Teaching has always been something I genuinely enjoy—not just helping students play the piano, but watching them grow in confidence and musical understanding over time. In addition to teaching, I also play piano in church settings, often accompanying hymns and congregational singing. These experiences have deepened my appreciation for music’s ability to bring people together and express emotion in a way words often can’t. My teaching style is structured and supportive to individual students. I value clear communication and consistent progress, so I provide lesson plans each week to help students know what they’ve learned and what to focus on. I also believe strongly in the importance of fundamentals like sight-reading, rhythm, scales, and theory—not just for exam students, but for everyone, as they form the building blocks of musical fluency. Whether you're aiming for grades or simply learning for enjoyment, I aim to make each lesson meaningful, enjoyable, and well-paced.
