Do you struggle with nerves, anxiety, and coping with the pressure associated with music performance? Is performing a terrifying and stressful experience for you? Would you like to start enjoying performing more, whilst improving focus, concentration, and your overall performance standard?
As a professional musician in one of Australia's major performing arts companies, I have to deal with performance anxiety and the pressure of performing on a daily basis. Over the course of my career I have worked on not only the technical and musical areas of my playing, but the psychological aspects as well.
I believe that having a strong performance psychology enables musicians to be able to perform at a consistently high standard time after time. Through my own extensive research, personal performance experience, as well as the experiences shared from many of my colleagues, I believe I am able to help a wide range of performers who suffer from performance anxiety, crippling self-doubt, low confidence, and negative self-talk. I would like to share my knowledge and experience with you to help you feel more confident and comfortable on stage each time you perform.
As part of my coaching I use techniques that are widely used in the music and performing arts community, all of which have a strong basis from empirical psychological studies. I can offer a wide range of exercises to help you improve various areas of your performing, from focus and concentration, overall self-awareness, overcoming fear and building courage, as well as improving practice efficiency. Please get in touch if you would like to arrange a session!
