Welcome to my profile!
My name is Matilda, and I am an 18 year old full time university student, going into my second year of a Bachelor of Science (Veterinary Bioscience).
I grew up surrounded by classical music, thanks to my dad's influence, and quickly developed a deep love for it. Since learning the horn at age 7 and receiving intensive training, I have completed up to AMEB Grade 8 and have received numerous prizes for outstanding examination results. In high school, I was awarded a music scholarship and served as Band Captain, which recognised my playing and dedication to the music program. I also spent eight years in the Adelaide Youth Orchestra, honing my skills alongside like-minded peers and learning from musicians from the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra. Learning the horn has allowed me to be part of something greater than myself, creating music with others who share my enthusiasm for classical music.
Now entering my second year of instrumental teaching, both privately and in schools, I have developed a strong passion for helping students grow in both technical ability and musical expression. With experience teaching beginner, intermediate, and advanced horn players, I aim to create engaging, supportive, and rewarding lessons plans, tailored to each student’s needs and musical aspirations.
Lesson durations are flexible, with a rate of $60/hr. I am based in the North-Eastern suburbs, however, I offer travel to students at no additional cost within a reasonable distance.
