Trombone Lessons

Welcome to my profile!

My name is Matilda, and I am an 18 year old full time university student, going into my second year of a Bachelor of Science (Veterinary Bioscience).

I picked up the trombone at age 14, and my experience as a horn player allowed me to progress rapidly. In high school, I was lead trombone in my school's Big Band 1, where I developed both musically and personally through the challenges and camaraderie of ensemble playing.

Beyond school, I spent two years in JazzSA's Superband, playing alongside talented musicians under the direction of Adelaide’s top jazz educators. This experience deepened my appreciation for jazz and refined my skills in ensemble playing.

Now entering my second year of instrumental teaching, both privately and in schools, I have developed a strong passion for helping students grow in both technical ability and musical expression. With experience teaching beginner and intermediate trombone players, I aim to create engaging, supportive, and rewarding lessons plans, tailored to each student’s needs and musical aspirations.

Lesson durations are flexible, with a rate of $60/hr. I am based in the North-Eastern suburbs, however, I offer travel to students at no additional cost within a reasonable distance.
