French horn lessons

I have been teaching French horn from beginner to advanced level for close to 20 years. Many of my students have gone on to study horn at University or continue playing in community ensembles after finishing High School.

I generally accept horn students as young as 10 however I'm willing to consider younger students case by case or can advise on when would be the right time to start.

I also enjoy teaching adults and encourage anyone wanting to go back to lessons to take the plunge. For those who haven't had the chance to learn this wonderful instrument but have enjoyed listening to those soaring horn lines - it's never too late, and yes, it is as fun as it sounds!

My teaching style is warm and encouraging and I believe this is important for students learning this instrument. There are many challenges for learning the horn and I prefer to be upfront about this. I work with students to develop independency so they are able solve problems in the practice room and I also spend time during lessons to developing aural skills in order for students to achieve their best success on this instrument.

Lessons take place at my studio in Bendigo.
