Hello,

My name is Talya! I completed my jazz degree at WAAPA in 2012 and have been teaching drums for over 10 years. I have a strong background in playing different genres, with all sorts of artists. For the past 18 months, I have been touring nationally and internationally and in 2019 I received the WAM Drummer of the Year award. I am also proud to endorse Ludwig drums and Zildjian cymbals.

I really enjoy teaching and am driven to ensure that all my students develop strong foundations, coordination, groove, time, and a strong understanding of theory and improvisation. All of these aspects informs a musician's ability to understand the music they hear, and develop their own unique sound and approach to their instrument and the music they play.

I can teach beginners, people that may have had lessons already, or students who are self-taught and want to expand upon their knowledge.

Beginners don't need a drum kit to start lessons. There is a lot we can cover before you get a kit!

Prices are as follows:

30 mins: $40

45 mins: $60

60 mins: $80
