Flute Lessons in Lyneham or Fyshwick at ACT Academy of Music.
Flute Teacher: Alison
Initially inspired by the bird in Peter and the Wolf, Alison has been playing the flute since she was 7 years old, learning with Teresa Rabe. She has also had masterclasses and private lessons Virginia Taylor and Vernon Hill from the ANU School of Music, as well as from composer and flutist Ian Clark, who is the professor of flute at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. Alison is passionate about inspiring the love of music in others. She believes that the fundamental technical skills are of great importance in providing a base from which to develop unique tone colours and sounds, and she encourages individual creativity and musicality.
Flute Teacher: Emma
Music has always played an important role in Emma’s life. She has learnt flute from the age of eight, and her enthusiasm has seen her participate in school bands and orchestras. Emma has progressed through the AMEB exams and in 2016 she completed her AMEB Certificate of Performance. Emma understands that every child has their own strengths and Emma customises every lesson to appeal to the student, to ensure that each student feels comfortable and at ease. Emma believes that being passionate and enjoying music is at the heart of every good player. She strives to make flute playing a pleasure and not a chore for her students, while also teaching correct technique and skills.
