Chris Weinstein

Chris began learning piano at the age of 5, before picking up saxophone at 7 with this quickly becoming his favourite. He completed AMEB Grade 8 with distinction for Alto Saxophone (also completed AMEB Grade 7, 5 & 3 with distinction). He also achieved AMEB Grade 6 in Piano. He achieved AMEB grade 4 level in Music Theory.

Chris received several music awards for his Alto Saxophone performance in Sydney, Penrith and Wollongong, Eisteddfods winning Saxophone 20 & Under section in Sydney Eisteddfod in 2022. He also placed 2nd and 3rd a the recent St George Sutherland Youth Music Awards. Following Chris' recent HSC performances he has been nominated for inclusion in the "Encore" HSC Showcase at the Sydney Opera House in 2023.

Chris uses a structured approach to music teaching, incorporating rhythm, music theory, sight-reading, and performance skills for students of all ages. He also incorporates fun music activities for young students to encourage them to learn the basics of music theory and performance through games.
