Ingrid has been playing violin professionally for fifteen years.
During her study in Adelaide under Keith Crellin (co-founder of Australian String Quartet) she undertook in depth theory tuition and has a sound knowledge of music theory. In 2009 she completed Masters in Music Performance at Melbourne University with Matthew Tomkins (co-founder of Flinders Quartet and Principal Second Violin in Melbourne Symphony Orchestra). While she lived in Melbourne, Ingrid performed regularly with Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and Melbourne Chamber Orchestra as well as Adelaide Symphony Orchestra.
She is now based in Adelaide, in the inner west.
Ingrid has had extensive experience teaching both in schools, such as St Peters Girls College and privately. She is able to explain concepts in a clear manner and provide an easy learning environment. Students can expect encouraging and stimulating lessons in which they will be able to develop a good understanding of musical terms, forms, key signatures, relationships between notes and chords in order to build skills and ultimately understand and enjoy music with more depth and fulfillment.
Lessons with Ingrid will be designed towards each individual based on their knowledge, ability and goals so they are able to get the most from their theory lessons.
