Cello lessons for adults

I'm a classically trained folk cellist, singer-songwriter and educator, with a special interest in teaching adults. I have a flexible and respectful teaching style that can accommodate individual learning needs. I love getting to know my students, developing a rapport and helping students to find joy in music and shape their unique musical voice.

I have ten years experience teaching cello and hold a Bachelor of Music from the Queensland Conservatorium. As a performer I've toured internationally as a singer-songwriter, and have worked as a multi-genre session musician for artists including Kate Miller-Heidke and Eminem.

(Please note that as an active performing musician I will occasionally be away for festivals and tours).

I'm offering cello lessons in Bardon starting from February 2022 for any of the following topics:

• General beginner cello
• Working through method books
• Classical repertoire
• Learning folk tunes by ear (from Celtic, Americana and/or Scandinavian traditions)
• Accompaniment techniques
• Improvisation
• Chopping and other rhythmic techniques
• Singing and playing
  (Please note: I don't generally facilitate AMEB exam preparation)
