Multi-genre cello lessons

Hi there! My name is Monique, and I am a classically trained folk cellist, singer-songwriter and educator. I have toured internationally extensively both as a solo singer-songwriter under Monique Clare, and as a member of folk band The Maes, and have worked as a cellist for artists including Eminem, Kate Miller-Heidke, KYGO, Darol Anger and Hanneke Cassel. I studied a Bachelor of Music at the Queensland Conservatorium in 2015 where I was awarded the Vada Jeffries Bach Prize, and was a member of the Australian Youth Orchestra performing in the Sydney Opera House.

(Please note that as an active performing musician I will occasionally be away for festivals and tours).

I'm offering cello lessons in Bardon for any of the following topics:

• General beginner/intermediate cello
• Learning folk tunes by ear (from Celtic, Americana and/or Scandinavian traditions)
• Accompaniment techniques
• Improvisation
• Chopping and other rhythmic techniques
• Singing and playing
  (Please note: I don't generally facilitate AMEB exam preparation)

• Music teachers who want to pick up some fiddle tunes to pass on to their students
