Lessons for singing cellists

So you're a string player, but you want to accompany yourself singing?! Well good news: it's totally possible and I would love to help you learn how to do it.

My name is Monique, and I am a folk cellist, singer-songwriter and educator. I have ten years experience teaching cello and hold a Bachelor of Music from the Queensland Conservatorium. As a performer I've toured internationally as a singer-songwriter, been a backing vocalist for The Maes, and have worked as a multi-genre session musician for artists including Kate Miller-Heidke and Eminem.

Singing & Stringing lessons can include:

• General exercises to help with intonation and coordination
• Some basic vocal technique
• Choosing songs to work on and adapt to our instruments
• Creating duo arrangements, singing in harmony
• Songwriting

You can be an absolute beginner in singing and playing, but you need to be fairly confident on your instrument before starting these lessons.
